Illustrated with black and white ink drawings. Green cloth boards with burgundy lion head to front. Burgundy title to spine. Untrimmed fore-edge. Rubbing to extremities. Dents to bottom edges of boards; bottom corners bumped. Light ripple to bottom quarter of the book's pages (from moisture?). Unmarked interior. Rubbing, creases, and chips to dustjacket edges. Large chip to top of dustjacket spine. "Another good story laid on a small farm in the part of Connecticut which Mrs. Davis knows so well. The family consists of twelve year old Connie, who adores horses, Clown, who loves to dress up and Sambo, aged four, a lovable, lisping little boy who is often in the way. With the help of a nervous new neighbor, Larry Maine, they uncover the most appalling fake antique racket. Plenty of excitement, animal life, nice characters and mean ones. Also a well handled change in young Larry who loses his fears and attains stability and peace of mind." (from Kirkus Review).
