This is an early copy of "The Poems of HENRY WADSWORTH LONGFELLOW" - complete in one volume. 1847 4th edition (stated); Harper & Brothers; New York. The poems are grouped as follows: Voices in the Night, Ballads and Other Poems (including "The Village Blacksmith"), Poems on Slavery, The Spanish Student, and The Belfry of Bruges and Other Poems - please see the photos for the complete list.
Condition:
The text block appears to have been rebound in flexcover boards with a maroon cloth. General light foxing to the pages (though heavier on the first few and last few pages). The title page has tears along the outer edge and a "Piqua Library Company" label at the top-right corner. There is an old name written in pencil on the front end paper. Overall in Fair condition.
Synopsis
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807 – 1882) was an American poet whose works include Paul Revere's Ride , The Song of Hiawatha , and Evangeline. Most of his works were lyrical poems which often utilized mythology and legend.
