First Edition, First Impression: Limited to 1075 numbered copies of which this is No. 317. 5 x 7.5in. xvi. 249pp.; xi. 262pp.; viii. 227pp.; vi. 231pp. 4 distinct photogravure frontispieces. Publisher's cloth boards with gilt titling. All 4 volumes are in VERY GOOD condition showing marginal shelf rubbing along the extremities, the spine of Vol. 2 somewhat rubbed, endpapers ever so lightly toned, otherwise the bindings are strong and tight, the text is clean and unmarked, and the boards remain bright and distinct. As pictured.
