Portrait with tissue guard. 8vo (7 3/4 x 5 inches), 886-pages, contemporary full purple calf, double gilt rules to sides, spine with three raised bands with ornamental gilt borders, central floral decoration, burgundy gilt lettering piece, all dges gilt; the binding by Birdsall. Extremities a little rubbed, lower cover scuffed, some foxing, spine uniformly sunned; very attractive nonetheless and well and strongly bound.
