London: Frederick Warne and Co, 1880. Chandos Poets Edition. Full leather. Very good. Chandos Poets edition of The Poetical Works of Lord Byron, with a fore-edge painting depicting a golfing scene.. Octavo, viii, 720pp. Full green morocco, gilt embellishments on covers. Title stamped in gilt on front cover and spine, raised bands with decorative gilt compartments. All edges gilt. Decorative gilt turn-ins. Extremities and spine rubbed, corners and spine tips lightly worn. Upper corner of front cover slightly bowed. Scratch to leather on back cover. Endpapers cracked at hinges, but binding is solid. Marginalia, primarily in the section with the poem "Don Juan." Frontispiece portrait with tissue cover, plus 12 illustrated plates. Features a fore-edge painting of two golfers and their caddies out on the course. A nice example.
