About This Item
The Poetical Works of Sir Walter Scott with the author's introduction and notes, edited by J. Logie Robertson, M.A., Oxford Complete Edition.
Hardback, 1904 , published by Henry Frowde, 970 pages.
Tree calf leather binding, with gilt detail to edges of boards, crest and extensively so to spine, which has raised bands. Some chipping to top and base of spine and to book title section of spine. Signs of rubbing and shelf-wear. Binding holding, although front inner hinge a little cracked, whilst rear outer hinge almost fully cracked and although the board remains attached it is somewhat flimsily so through the rear inner hinge. Textblock firm. Page edges marbled, as are endpapers. Front pastedown contains a prize-giving bookplate. Page surfaces are quite clean, apart from the odd mark and a hint of tanning, and appear to contain no underlining, marginalia, etc. See pictures for further information. A nice copy
