Ojai, California: The Book Club of California [printed by the Classic Letterpress in Ojai, California], 2014. Limited Edition. Hardcover. Fine. Campbell, Carolee. Number 90 of 300 copies, quarto size, [53] pp., with a broadside signed by Kay Ryan laid in, signed by all five contributing poets. The Book Club of California's 233rd publication, being a fine letterpress edition of poetry by five eminent contemporary poets, each of whom call California home. More than Californians, "they are poets of the world...each has charted a disparate course, mapping the terrain through which they travel their separate landscapes with a streamlined diction" (N.B., from Introduction).

With two photographs by Carolee Campbell reproduced in colour; loosely laid in is a broadside with a poem by Kay Ryan, "Hermits", not found in the book, signed by her.

___DESCRIPTION: Original quarter linen and boards covered in indigo sheet of pure Belgian flax, title stamped in black on backstrip, fore-edge uncut, two colour photo reproductions (digitally printed); Zerkall Frankfurt paper, Walbaum typeface, thin quarto size (10 5/8" by 5 3/4"), [1-6] 7-49 [50-53 acknowledgments and colophon] pp., signed by all five contributing poets undeneath their printed name at the beginning of each section. With a broadside signed by Kay Ryan laid in, the poem different than those in the book, printed on tan paper with the title in brown, measuring just over 10" by 5.25".

___CONDITION: A fine copy; the covers clean, the corners straight and unrubbed, the binding tight with solid hinges, the interior clean and bright, and free of prior owner markings; clean, crisp, like new. The broadside also fine, clean and without wear.
