About This Item
Woodstock and New York: Overlook Press, 2000. First Edition. Near fine in a near fine jacket.. A meditation in poem form on the Beat poet and cultural icon from Ed Sanders, who was close to Ginsberg. A nice association, inscribed to Ken Mikolowski, who with his wife Ann founded the Alternative Press. For more than 30 years, the Alternative Press published unbound letterpress-printed mail art, including the work of Beat and Black Mountain writers and poets from their native Detroit. Ginsberg was a frequent collaborator. Hardcover. 8vo. Publisher's quarter cloth over green boards in original dust jacket. INSCRIBED by Sanders at title page, "What does it/ all mean?/ For Ken--/ -w/ many thanks/ for all the good times/ over all the years/ Love,/ Ed/ 11-29-00." Trivial touches of edgewear, else bright and sharp. Near fine. 252pp. Alternative Press printing of Ginsberg poem "Starry Rhymes," 4" x 6.5" approx. laid in.
