About This Item
Frederick Stokes, 1924 Book written by the first police woman in New York. bound in dark blue cloth with gilt titles, in tan jacket with blue titles and image of the author on the front cover. This is not an historical survey, according to the author, but an account of police work from her perspective with her observations and views on the subject. It's purposes are to inform women who enter the field and the general public on the woman's place in police work. Also in this work the perspective of crime as a social disease and prevention is emphasized. Sharp copy in jacket with a penny size piece missing from the spine, nicks and chips at the extremities, but still quite presetable. A scarce book, especially in such nice condition.
