London: Cape, 1936. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. TUNNICLIFFE C F. This is the 1936 re-issue by Jonathan Cape with the illustrations by C F Tunnicliffe. A & C Black sold unbound sheets of the first edition to Jonathan Cape. (Cave). Cape added illustrations by C.F. Tunnicliffe, all on their three new preliminary leaves, and coloured pictorial end-papers. Woodcut illustrations by C.F. Tunnicliffe, pictorial end-papers. Olive-Green cloth with black lettering to the spine. This is referred to in the bibliography as Binding B.* Some light foxing to the page block edges and the early/late pages of the book otherwise a VG+ copy in a price-clipped D/W that is VG indeed with a touch of fraying at the head of the spine and some light foxing to the white back panel. There is evidence of a label having been lifted from the spine. The story of a river in the Pacific North-West coast and the lives of the people and wildlife that lived on and around it. *Seen in two bindings. Binding A is light green cloth and has the spine titled in gilt. Binding B has the spine titled in black and has been seen in both olive-green and blue-green cloth. This copy is Binding B
