Paris: L. Baudry, 1827. Maria Edgeworth (1768-1849) wrote many, many popular tales. Here is an uncommon edition, published in Paris, France, with the book in English. Eighth Edition, the "Second Series" containing "Murad the Unlucky," "The Manufacturers," "The Contest," "The Grateful Negro," and "To-Morrow." Clean text; 391 pages, with the Table of Contents in the rear. Minimal tanning/foxing throughout; very readable today. Green leather binding, faded to blue; ruled with gilt. Marbled endpapers; rubbing to the covers and spine. The rear gutter is cracked, but holding strong. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Eighth Edition. Full-Leather. Very Good/No Jacket.
