About This Item
New York, NY: Atheneum, 1968. First Edition, First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. Erwin Schachner (Illustrator). EX-LIB/UNCIRCULATED Copy. Text/Bright, clean & Near New. Illustrated orange linen boards/NF. DJ/None. Published w/o ISBN; ISBN subsequently assigned to 1985 reprint. Young Francisco helps farmer catch and re-load run away pigs to a truck. The last to be caught is an odd, gentle and artistic (yes, artistic!!) creature that prefers to feast with his eyes rather than gorging on food, and so never fattens up enough for the market. When Francisco refuses payment for his help, the farmer presents him with the slender pig for nothing .. literally "por nada". So begins a new life for Pornada ... will she ever learn to eat?
