Rennyville, IL: 1st National Bank, 1983.. Among the featured exhibitors are "Downtown" heavyweights Jean-Michael Basquiat, Futura 2000, Keith Haring, Kenny Scharf, Donald Baechler, and others. Reproduces a work by Rigoberto Torres, one of the exhibitors. Folded as issued, else as new (unfolded 17" x 10.75"). A rare poster from an obscure venue in Illinois that likely kept the print run very small. We've never seen this before. Quite an early show for these artists.

Description:
86 pp. Sunday magazine supplement. Small folio (approximately 10.25 × 12.5 inches) Very good overall ; handling marks and curling at the corners. Ilustrated wrappers. [1624]
Includes the seminal 11-page cover story on Basquiat, written by Cathleen McGuigan. "Since I was seventeen, I thought I might be a star. I'd think about all my heroes, Charlie Parker, Jimi Hendrix," he remarks, in McGuigan's story. "I had a romantic feeling of how people had become famous. Even when I didn't think my stuff was that good, I'd have faith." In the eyes of some observers, the piece helped cement Basquiat's reputation in the firmament of the 1980s New York art world. A scarce and sought after ephemeron.
