New Haven: Modern Library, 1937. Early Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. Duodecimo. 4.25 x 6.75 in. 531 pp. Translated from the original German by Willa and Edwin Muir. Very good in the original brown balloon cloth with some fading to the spine and top edges and corners, and a good illustrated dust jacket that has chipping along the upper edge of the front cover and a tanned spine. A prior owner has repaired the front hinge to the spine with tape and signed their name on the front free endpaper.
