BOOK REVIEW ON LINE; The book, the third in the series, brings the saga to a satisfying conclusion. At the time I read it there WERE no other books really planned; Donaldson had talked about continuing the story but there wasn't any particular indication that he would do so. Having said that, this book by itself wraps up the storyline (as known) quite well. Our anti-hero Covenant is again summoned to the Land to finish what he started, and to root destroy Lord Foul once and for all. Along the way he comes to grip with the power of his white gold magic, and at least decides that if he's GOING to fight he's going to actually learn how to use the magic his has. Covenant still isn't very likeable, but at least he's deciding to get into the fight. VERY recommended. This is "big picture", epic-style fantasy, but it's dark......the "hero" is NOT your typical hero. If you're looking for a saga like Tolkein's you won't find it here.
