About This Item

Boston: The Christopher Publishing House, 1943. Book. Illus. by Charles M. Wetzel. Good. Cloth. First Edition. Octavo, steel blue cloth covered boards. 283 pp. Frontispiece photograph of a range of wet and dry flies and lures. A comprehensive guide to fly fishing, covering the dry and wet fly as well as the use of nymphs. The author has drawn detailed line drawings for the natural flies encountered by the Eastern flyfisherman, and also drawings for the artificial flies, along with, entomology, taxonomy and materials needed for tying. The book also includes some reminiscences of the heyday of the famous Kettle Creek stream in Pennsylvania's fly fishing heartland. This is an ex-library book in a plain library binding and with a full complement of library marks, stamps, a perforation and the paper remnants of a removed card pocket. However the interior of the book is otherwise undamaged whatsoever: all of the author's line drawings are clear and unmarred, and there is no soil, damp, staining, foxing etc. Not a pretty book, but a very serviceable and informative reference work with the complete text in solid clean and tight shape. Good. Sold as is..
