About This Item

UK,8vo p/back 1st edn.[Complete number line 10 - 1 descending.Simultaneous issue as UK,8vo HB+dw/dj,1st edn.] NFINE.No owner inscrptn, and no price removal to rear card cover and no reading creases to spine/backstrip. Bright, crisp, clean, matt, colour photographic illustrated card covers with pale blue, yellow+black lettering to front and black lettering to rear; with negligible shelf-wear or creasing to edges and corners - no nicks or tears present - and no reading creases to spine/backstrip.Top front corner with the tiniest of accidental corner crease through to the following 10 unpaginated pages.Bottom front+rear cover corners with visual diagonal corner wrinkling externally but without any indication of any creasing internally - possible production fault? - and some minimal, minor, superficial scoring/indents to either cover.Top+fore-edges inevitably but lightly toned, otherwise bright and clean and without any foxing/spotting or other marks; contents bright, tight, clean, solid and sound - virtually pristine - no intentional dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corners, would appear unread - apart from my own collation.UK,8vo wraps,p/back 1st edn,3-316pp [paginated] includes Pts 1-3 comprising of 18,10 and 7 chapters respectively; plus [unpaginated] half-title +title pages, contents list/table,a dedication,Pt 1's separator page plus Pts 2+3 separator pages further into text body, author acknowledgements/ thanks with blank reverse, following last paginated page and then followed by a further 10pp blanks. For a highly collected and prolific children's book writer this is an interesting and desirable alternative to an expensive 1st edn hardback, and will be an important and welcome addition to the Philip REEVE canon.A really acceptable and collectable copy. Fleeing from the grim aviators of the Green Storm, with the cold of the Ice Wastes seeping into their bones,Tom and Hester stumble on the ice city of Anchorage just in time. But Anchorage is not a safe refuge - devastated by plague, the city is barely lurching along, and the youg Margravine is making a last desperate bid for survival. She has set a course for the Dead Continent - America. . . . The gripping sequel to 'Mortal Engines' - the author's debut novel. Want more Philip REEVE titles/books?
