Washington, D.C.: US Government Printing Office, 1862. A fascinating portrait of the United States just as it moved toward Civil War. Technically, this is "Executive Document No. 116 of the 2nd Session of the 37th Congress," a Very Good Plus copy of the First Edition, printed by order of Congress. 294 pages. Blindstamped covers with US eagle and shield motif; color has faded a bit, else would be Near Fine. Text is clean, fresh, and supple. Quite readable. Corners mildly bumped; unfoxed. No dustjacket, as issued. Available institutionally in Goverment Document collections, but scarce on the commercial market. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good Plus/No Jacket.
