First printing, near fine blue cloth hardcover shows touch of soil at page edges and mild toning to front endpapers, else tight and clean, in very good dust jacket that shows ink mark through price at front flap, light rubbing and soil, bit of wrinkling and edgewear that includes closed tears and chips, couple of small open chips and a scotch tape mend at top edge of jacket reverse. 798 pages with a set of black & white plates. Still a pleasing copy of these memoirs from the former statesman.
Synopsis
The author relates his experiences in the State Department during a period that witnessed World War II, European reconstruction, the Korean War and McCarthyism
