A copy with outstanding provenance: written to the front free end paper 'To Gerald, love & best wishes from Dad Xmas 1949' [an inscription from Amos Perry to his son Gerald]; under this is an inscription from Frances Perrry 'From Amos Perry V.M.H. of Enfield to his son, Gerald. A gift from Frances Perry, Xmas 1968' [Frances Perry married Amos's son Gerald in 1930, and eight years later published the first of her many books, Water Gardening. She spent most of her life in and around Enfield.] Pp.xxvi, 681 with b/w. photographic plates. Dust jacket with b/w photographic onlay to the front board, Chipped and worn with a few repairs using archival tape to the underside and now protected in a clear removable archival sleeve. Green cloth hardback binding with gilt letttering very good with a little general wear. Contents clean and tight. Avery good copy with outstanding provenace..
