Pidou de Saint Olon's "Present State of the Empire of Morocco" is a rare 17th-century survey of Morocco. While serving as a court ambassador in Morocco, Olon gained an understanding of the life and customs in Morocco, both in the courts and commercial systems. His 'Relation de l'empire de Maroc' became one of the best accounts of life in Morocco at the end of the 17th-century.
This highly desirable and valuable 1695 first English edition is notable for containing impressive full-page engravings of Moroccan costume throughout!
