New York: The Macmillan Company, 1949. Fourth printing. Hardcover. Very Good +/very good. A book of poetry signed and inscribed by author on half title page - "For Claire (?) , Fellow Student in Wells with Best Wishes and a Whale - Robert P. Tristram Coffin". The inscription and signature is contained within an ink drawing of a whale and a sailing ship presumably made by the author. The author won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1936 for "Strange Holiness". Tight binding. Previous owner's book plate on front free endpaper. Dust jacket is NOT price-clipped and has some chips, tears, creases around edges. Size: 8vo (8" to 9"). 165 pp.
