The hard back retains its deep blue color with the crimson, white and blue embossed symbols and beads of Islam and Christianity. The title on the face is in brilliant gold, while the spinal lettering is intact if more muted. There is no dust jacket. It is dedicated to his father, David. Yes, this is the same author of Ben Hur, as well as Union Army General who repulsed Confederate Jubal Early's raid on DC in 1864, the President of the Andersonville Trial Court, and the governor of the New Mexico Territory who offered then withdrew a pardon to Billy the Kid when the desperado failed to apply.
