LONDON: MACMILLAN AND CO , 1912 Burgundy Buckram Boards with gilt titles to spine, 225 x 155 mm approx. xxxviii + 410 pp + 2 of publisher's adverts. First Edition 1912. Ten Lectures given at Edinburgh University on Ethics and Philosophy with intro. and Abstracts of the lectures prepared for the press. The copy offered has notes made in pencil from a reading by the poet Andrew Young. Provenance - note in pencil to that effect to free front end paper by (assumed) auction house with part lot No. loosely laid in. Young lived latterly in Bognor Regis and the book was acquired from the estate of an avid book collector who regularly frequented auctions in West Sussex. VG (Book- mild general shelf wear to cloth- colour loss only, offset browning to free end papers with pencil note as above, mild foxing to prelims and fore edge margins of uncut book block. Marginalia and highlighting to passages in pencil as above throughout).
