Philadelphia: Henry C. Lea, 1878. Hardcover. Very Good -. Second Edition. xxvii, [2], 34-1040, 32 p.: 542 in-text illustrations; 24 cm. Contemporary full calf with four spine compartments between raised bands. Gilt-tooled title on black leather label in second compartment. Publisher's catalog of medical publications on final 32 pages. The author, Dr. John Ashhurst (1846-1901), was a surgeon at the Hospital of the Protestant Episcopal Church and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, both in Philadelphia. From 1877 to 1900 he was Professor of Clinical Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. Very scarce. A heavy book; for international shipping, it will have to be sent by priority international. In Very Good- Condition: edges are rubbed; minor loss at edges of spine label; title page archivally re-attached; occasional minor soiling; otherwise, clean and tight.
