This copy of the book has been signed, with an inscription by the author on the front endpaper. This is a smaller than trade sized paperback book with cardstock covers and a side stapled spine. The book is in Good condition and was issued without a dust jacket. The book cover has ground-in dirt, Tearing to the spine joints, small edge nicks, and general wear and tear. There is an inked price on the front cover of the book. The text pages are mostly clean and bright. "The lectures include: Hahnemann and His Time, The Philosophy of Homeopathy, The Scope of Homeopathy, Life, Health and Disease, Recovery and Cure, and, Homeopathic Posology : The Theory of Dosage. Ward, James William, MD, San Francisco, California, dean of the Hahnemann Medical College of the Pacific and for twenty years its professor of abdominal and pelvic surgery, is a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, born March 19, 1862, son of William Emerson Ward and Elvira Jane Canney, his wife, and a descendant of Phineas Ward, a revolutionary soldier and patriot. Dr. Ward acquired his elementary education in the common and public schools and graduated at the San Jose high school in 1878. He studied the classics under a private tutor. The foundation of his medical education was laid in a three year's preparatory course with a medical preceptor, after which he entered as a student the New York Homœopathic Medical College and Hospital, and completed the usual three years' course in two years, coming to his degree March 15, 1883...Dr. Ward is a member and mow president of the health commission of the city and county of Sam Francisco ; a member of the American Institute of Homœopathy, member and ex-president of the California State Homœopathic Medical Society, member of the Southern California Homœopathic Medical-Society, the Surgical and Gynecological Society of the American Institute of Homœopathy..."
