London: Printed for Henry Colburn , 1825. SCARCE in the British First Edition. [iii-v], vi-viii, [1]2-440 pps. Bound in contemporary diced calf bordered by double gilt rules, back divided into 6 compartments with central blind-stamped ornaments flanked by gilt rules, gilt lettering, marbled page edges. Binders's signature "S & S" stamped bottom edge rear paste down. Very Good Plus, corners rubbed, offsetting to front end pages, scattered light toning to end pages only, interior quite clean and bright. Madame Campan was Lady-in-Waiting to Queen Marie Antoinette, and her journal provided a valuable historical source on life at court during the reign of Louis XVI.. First Edition. Diced Calf . Very Good Plus/No Jacket, As Issued. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
