London: Collins, 1961. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. The official life of Professor F. A. Lindemann, Lord Cherwell, adviser to Churchill. Born in Germany in the 1880s he built an outstanding reputation for his scientific ability in his early twenties, working with Einstein. Having moved to Britain he advanced to high positions in academia, founding the Clarendon laboratories at Oxford, but now best known as a close adviser to Churchill both during the 193os and in wartime. A well-cared-for copy with no markings with an intact unclipped dustjacket showing only the shelf-wear of over sixty years.
