DATED NOVEMBER 11, 1952. IN THE NOTE STEVENSON THANKS HER FOR AN "UNDERSTANDING MESSAGE." SIGNED IN INK. 2) PRINTED NOTE THAT WAS SENT OUT TO HIS SUPPORTERS AFTER HIS 2ND LARGE DEFEAT FOR THE PRESIDENCY. THE OWNER OF THE NOTE HAS WRITTEN NOV. 1956 ON THE TOP. 3) THIS IS A VERY GOOD TYPE-WRITTEN AND SIGNED IN INK NOTE FROM STEVENSON TO THE OWNER OF THE BOOK IN WHICH HE THANKS HER FOR HER LETTER AND WRITES "HAVING TWICE BEEN HONORED BY MY PARTY, I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE IMPERTINENT TO SEEK A THIRD NOMINATION, BUT THE OUTPOURING OF LOYALTY AND CONFIDENCE THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY AND AT LOS ANGELES IS MY GREATEST HONOR AND SATISFACTION. DATED AUGUST 9, 1960. THIS WAS OF COURSE THE CONVENTION THAT PICKED JOHN F. KENNEDY TO RUN FOR THE HIGHEST OFFICE. 4) THE FINAL LETTER IS A TYPED NOTE FROM THE PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICER FOR THE UNITED STATES MISSION TO THE UNITED NATIONS IN WHICH SHE WRITES ON THE BEHALF OF MR. STEVENSON WHO WAS THEN THE U.S. AMBASSADOR TO THE U.N. THANKING THE FORMER OWNER OF THE BOOK FOR HER RECENT COMMUNICATION AND THANKING HER FOR HER ADVICE AND SUGGESTIONS. DATED MAY 6,1963, SIX MONTHS BEFORE THE KENNEDY ASSASSINATION. Biography of Stevenson, written shortly after his big defeat for the presidency, a not uncommon book but the letters make it a bit special. A small amount of chipping to the edges and the head and crown of the spine panel. Vg/vg.
