Mary Denning King van Rennselaer (1848-1925), American author of historical fiction, scholar, antiquarian and member of the New York Historical Society. Mrs. King had particular interest in the history of Dutch women. She initiated what would become the oldest colonial lineage society for women in the US, The Colonial Dames of America.
