London: Ernest Benn Limited, 1929. Book. Poor. Hardcover. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Maroon hardcover with title in gilt on spine. Condition: Poor, described as such becuase although the covers are in good condition, with light shelfwear, the front inner hinge has cracked so that webbing is showing through. It is holding however. The front endpaper and half-title have some pencil scribble marks (see image) and the half-title, title page and the following three pages have some light cockling to the outer edge. Internally, the text is in good reading condition with occasional notes in pencil and ink. 251pp. plus several b/w photographic illustrations and diagrams. 15pp. of trade advertisements. This period handbook is relatively in depth and academic and includes chapters on the collection, treatment and utilisation of town refuse..
