Volume 1 is a 1928 printing; volume 2 is a 1926 first edition with the matching date on the title page. Hardcovers have maroon cloth-covered boards with gold spine lettering and blind-stamped cover lettering. Orange illustrated endpapers have images of industry and a key with the United YMCA Schools logo on the bow next to a doorway labeled "Opportunity". 583 pages, continuous pagination. "The Standard Course for YMCA Schools." Cover and spine title: "Public Speaking"; publisher on spine is United YMCA Schools. NOT ex-library. Bindings tight. Hinges NOT cracked. The front endpapers of both volumes have had some personal information erased, leaving a thin roughened area on each. Corners, spine ends and some edges lightly bumped. Both volumes have some faint moisture stains in a few areas on the covers, as though something dripped on them and was quickly wiped away. Pages lightly tanned, more so at periphery, but still supple. Pages clean and unmarked. Dust jackets are missing. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.
