This is published by Houghton Mifflin, so presumed to be first ed., rather than the more commonly available Grosset & Dunlap reprint the same year; 312 p., clean and unmarked except on front end page on strong mildly age-toned paper. One small smudge in fore-edge margin of last page. The front end page is ornamented with a pasted-on illustration showing a handsome young man, cut-out from another source (possibly from missing d.j.?) and with former owner's name, address, and date of 1925 added in an elegant hand. Sewn signatures. In absence of d.j. there is some rubbing along edges of light brown boards and two faded smudges nera upper corner of rear board.
