Scarce. BAL 3543. Though the book states it is one of 200 copies, BAL notes: "Printed for, and published by, M. Harzof, New York bookseller, who once stated that all but about fifty copies of this publication were destroyed by his order." Merle Johnson, in his bibliography of Mark Twain writes, "The play was started at the suggestion of Mark Twain's first publisher, Webb, but was never completed. It is not included in any of the author's other published volumes." p. 106. This work includes a facsimile letter by Twain explaining why he was never able to finish the work, A near fine copy of a scarce work.
