About This Item
51-63 pages with tables and cited references. Quarto (11" x 8 1/2") bound in original publisher's wrappers. Current Anthropology Volume 14, Numbers 1-2 complete issue. First edition. Sources of evidence for origin and dispersal of cultivated plants re tabulated and classified. All items are qualified and the level of confidence with which an ite of evidence can be accepted varies accordingly. Qualifications are listed as (1) authenticity, (2) abundance, (3) kind, (4) interpretations and (5) integration. Theories proposed are often based on evidence of very dubious quality; it is suggested here that a more disciplined approach to available evidence would be desirable. Condition: Previous owner's name to front wrapper, light edge wear, spine sunned else very good.
