The Casanova Society, London [1924]. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. First English edition, translated from the French by E.Powys Mathers. 8vo. 103pp. Striking multi-coloured marbled boards, lettered in white at the spine and upper board. Tissue-protected frontispiece engraving. All edges untrimmed. A sliver of light partial browning to the free endpapers, and just a touch of very light spotting to the protruding fore edges. Very good indeed very good dust wrapper, lightly toned at the spine panel, and with just a touch of further toning to the margins of the front and rear panels. Joseph Charles Mardrus, was a French physician and a noted translator, best remembered for his translation into French of 'Thousand and One Nights' which was also subsequently rendered into English by Edward Powys Mathers..
