Westminster: Constable, 1902. 1st ed. Robinson, W. Heath. 8vo, full green cloth with a very elaborate gilt pictorial cover, with part of the design in red. Heavy beveled boards. 19 full page pen & ink illustrations by W. Heath Robinson. 10 pages of publisher's ads in the rear. First published in 1898.
Spine evenly sunned to a lighter shade of green, while the gilt roses and titles and red decorations, all retain their brightness. Back cover is slightly mottled. Some discoloration to free endpapers. On the blank front pastedown is affixed a Prize Plate dated 1902 from the York School Board.
Uncommon. Fine early work by Robinson, similar to his Edgar Allen Poe and Arabian Nights illustrations, which just may show some influence from France's Daniel Vierge.
