About This Item
Brisbane: Frederick Phillips, Government Printer, 1929. Paperback tall octavo, very good condition, decorative cover, marble pattern on thin card covers, black & white photos, tables, top corner front cover tips & few pages little creased, spine little creased (during manufacture), minor edgewear, tiny annotation title page, rubber stamp. 226 pp. A special book written by the late Harry Easterby, who was involved in the sugar industry for many years, and was the Director of the Bureau of Sugar Experiment Stations at the time this book was written. He provides an outline of the Sugar Industry in Queensland which at the time supplied 96% of the sugar in Australia. He also writes that the Industry in the later years has been bound up with politics, both Federal and State. A great book for anyone interested in this part of Australia's history.
