Maria de Lourdes Modesto is the author of several cookbooks and other books about food, including Cozinha tradicional portuguesa, generally considered one of the best, if not the best, currently available book of Portuguese recipes, which has gone through 19 editions in Portuguese and 4 in English. Manuela Barbosa, with a degree in pharmacy from the Universidade do Porto, is a specialist in the technology of milk and milk-derived products.
