With micro chips to edge extremities, creases on covers, minor rubbing on spine typical of pulp fiction books of this age, otherwise gently read, pages are clean and binding tight. Retitled from his original 1918 prehistoric novel "Le Félin Géant " (The Giant Cat). He also wrote another earlier prehistoric novel, "Guerre du Feu" known as Quest for Fire and was the basis of the 1981 movie with the same name starring Ron Perlman directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud. The author is considered one of the greats of French science-fiction writers along with Jules Verne, this was his only novel translated into English from French during his lifetime.
