310 pages. Octavo (8" x 6") bound in original publisher's beige cloth with black lettering to spine and black pictorial on front cover in original pictorial jacket. (APG, Wodehouse: 072b) First American edition in first state dust jacket with five titles on back jacket beginning with John Brown's Cousin and ending with The Bright Pavilions.
Quick Service is a novel by P. G. Wodehouse, first published in the United Kingdom on October 4, 1940 by Herbert Jenkins, London and in the United States on December 27, 1940 by Doubleday, Doran, New York. Although it does not feature any of Wodehouse's regular characters or settings, it is a typically Wodehousean comedy, featuring impoverished but romantic youths, wealthy but grouchy relatives, charming and resourceful friends, chirpy criminals, country houses, impostor, servants etc.
Condition:
Corners gently bumped, light rubbing to extremities. Jacket resorted by Octavaye Studios. A very good copy in a better than very good dust jacket.
