Intended to preserve the spirit, vitality, humour and zest for life possessed by Christopher Riley during his lifetime. Titles include: The Bear and the Sourdough, The Overpopulated Jackpine, Bears versus Skunks, The Drunken Whiskey Jack, More Courage than Judgement, Excerpt from a Letter to His Wife, Prospecting for Prospectors, The Frog, Continuing Our Education, Another Engineering 'Must', On Sitting at the Head Table, Proposing a Toast, and Matthew Sam - Prospector. Riley's family moved from England to Canada in 1903 and eventually homesteaded at Celista, B.C. He became a well-educated geologist and discovered the Endako molybdenum mine. Signed and inscribed by Mr. Riley's wife, Carol (Caroline) upon title page. Binding intact. Above-average wear. A worthy copy of this wonderful memento..
