About This Item

Quartet, 1981. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. An ex-library book (library stamp on copyright page, call number on jacket spine). 168pp. Cloth covered boards. Hint of page toning. In its original dust jacket, protected in mylar wrapper. A perceptive biography of Butler one of the most enigmatic and perhaps most talented British politicians of the 20th century. He came close to the top job three times, and his political career was longer than any other politician of his times, except Churchill. Yet throughout his life there was a touch of deviousness and many were baffled by his disloyalty in crisis and unkindness in conduct. Hard to find as a hardback.
