Gollancz, 1963. Hardcover. Good/Good. 1963. No Edition Remarks. 320 pages. Yellow dust-jacket over red cloth. Pages remain bright and clear with minimal tanning and foxing. Binding is shaky, however pages remain fully attached. Pencil inscription to front endpaper. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Spine has crushing to both ends. Book has forward lean. Unclipped jacket has light edgewear with tears and creasing. Spine is heavily tanned.

Synopsis

The Race of the Tiger is an historical novel by the Welsh writer Alexander Cordell (1914-1997) set in mid-19th century Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It is a family saga of the O'Haras of County Connemara, Ireland, who flee the English yoke to make their fortune in the New World, where iron barons such as Andrew Carnegie and Henry Clay Frick thrive in an era of unprecedented industrial growth.
