About This Item
Santa Barbara, CA Capra Press, September 1991. Paperback Very Good+ in Wraps: shows just a touch of wear to extremities, a bit heavier at the lower rear corner, where there is some faint creasing; careful tape repair at the bottom of the front hinge; former bookseller's logo rubber-stamped at the front endpaper. Binding square and secure; text clean. No longer pristine, but remains close to 'As New'. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo. 179pp. Maps. Charts. Illustrated with Black & White Drawings by Michael McCurdy. Trade Paperback. Anyone interested in deer, whether naturalist, hunter, or both, will find this book fascinating, informative, and entertaining. The volume also benefits from being extremely well written. Petersen shares his passion while being academically sound. I leave this book out and accessible, reading passages, rereading them, and savoring the information as I search out my own experiences with the subject matter the author covers so well, then filling in the scientific background of the antlers, their growth, their history among aficionados from Petersen's text.
