About This Item
U.S.A.: Viking, 1961. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. A fine copy in a very good price-clipped dustjacket. This copy is signed by Peter Matthiessen directly on the front free endpaper--not on a bookplate--signature only without any inscriptions. Tight and clean--unread condition-the dustjacket is price clipped and has moderate edgewear to the head and heel of the spine and tips--but no missing paper--along with a couple of closed end small repaired tears. Dustjacket is now protected and in a new clear acrylic dustjacket covering. Very scarce signed. A very nice copy. Free shipping within the USA. Matthiessen's third novel after "Race Rock" and "Partisans". Matthiessen was one of the founders of The Paris Review.
