London: Reader's Library. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. Near Fine in a Very Good jacket, unclipped (no price), generally toned and soiled, a few creases throughout, small chips at the top edge. Red cloth with gilt lettering and designs, dulled at the spine. Square and firmly bound with toned pages. A collection of fourteen stories featuring the gentleman thief.
Synopsis
E. W. Hornung (1866-1921) created Raffles the gentleman burglar, hero of The Amateur Cracksman (1899) and Mr. Justice Raffles (1909) and wrote many other adventure stories published in magazines and in book form. He married Arthur Conan Doyle's sister Constance, traveled widely, and played cricket.
