A late 19th century morality story centering on the conversion of a father from the hard businessman to the thoughtful employer and patron of his people is touchingly told. The charm of its simple narrative reads like child's book however, the lessons instilled goes much further and touches the sources of a true and earnest philanthropy. [GH, 276]
Half burnt orange cloth to decorated lighter shade of cloth. Bindings are tight and square. Text clean, light even toning with some fingermarks. Moderate shelf handling wear with opened corners. 12mo; 7.5 inches tall; 91 pages followed by four illustrated advertisements for additional books. Illustrations in the text by the author. First Edition, First Printing.
