About This Item

New York: E.P. Dutton & Co., Inc.. Good+. 1941. First Edition. Hardcover. (no dust jacket) [solid but shelfworn book, some light staining to lower portion of rear cover; vintage bookseller's "remnant" (price markdown) label on rear pastedown (Woodward & Lothrop)]. Novel about a genius writer and his family, trying to live a quiet life on their farm in Cornwall, while numerous literary establishment types from London try to finagle him into the limelight, in the hope that some of his consequent fame and (especially) fortune will rub off on them. I wonder if they knew there was a war on? .
