Introduction is ""The Tale of the Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe"" which turns out to be the Old Woman's sales pitch for wheat, with parts for the Sun Fairy, Wind and Rain Fairies, a Phosphate Fairy, Gluten and Starch Fairies and a Bran Fairy. Recipes include Ralston Porridge, Branzos Ralston Porridge, Baby Bunting Gruel, Fried Ralston, Ralstone Sour Milk Pancakes, Purina Maccaroons. Tale about feeding a healthy pigeon only the white parts of wheat, and soon becomes paralyzed; wings and head droop. Then, force Purina down the pigeon's throat and paralysis disappears. This type of advertising might not ""fly"" in modern times. Diagram shows cross section of Wheat kernal, nature's perfect food.
